great help!

i had both versions and wound up using the original when reading on my own, because it flows much better. but when my 10-year old wanted to read it with me, i found the modern translation enormously helpful. not being a Shakepearean scholar, i couldn't really answer specific questions about vocabulary and shake's delightfully convoluted grammar. no, the original text is not incomprehensible, but the modern translation will definitely help answer many questions for a lot of us who don't have a degree in this stuff.
now, if you're a curmudgeonly snob, by all means, skip it. go find an handwritten version and read it by candlelight. but i think a lot of people will find this version quite useful.
the 10 year old adds: Alright. Shakespeare teachers out there; do you expect someone who is not majoring in Shakespeare (show of hands who didn't major in it?) to go track down some original handwritten copy on goat skin and what not? Oh and yeah we always talk like this:
"O, pardon me, thou bleeding piece of earth,That I am meek and gentle with these butchers!Which, like dumb mouths, do ope their ruby lips."

litterally one half of the book is in normal shakespearian and the other half is "translated" but its not really translated it just copied the same stuff and changed a few words. it was annoying how they even changed the wording on stuff that was obvious of its meaning. I was not impressed and I am mad at myself for even paying for this.
