An interesting follow-up to the first book

I have to say I really enjoy the world the author has build for us in the first book Geekomancy and this one does build on that lore while continuing much of the snarky commentary that made the first one so enjoyable for this geek. I will say I wasn't a fan of the overly heavy focus on the romantic side of the story in this book which is why I didn't give it five stars. I much prefered the more subdued romance undertones of the first book particularly when it's pretty clear that the romance was not going to be a lasting one.
Overall though it's another fun romp through a well thought out world of fun.

Much Better

Very much improved from the first novel.
Pros:
1. book is cheap.
2. doing some interesting world building.
3. It was interesting, I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened.
4. I Enjoyed the book. It was fun.
Cons:
1. It's a book written by a man and there is women on women "sexy times". Nothing wrong with the LGBTQ Community, just felt out of place and didn't flow. Just felt like a guys fantasy instead of "reality"
2.still is missing the real flow or natural development of the characters. I felt like there was going to be a surprise or reveal at the end, but it was obvious and expected, which in itself not bad, although I felt like it was going to be something unique, or exciting, but it was just the same old story.
3. If you look at this as stand-alone. You needed to talk a little bit more about Eastwood.

1. Much better than the first one! leaps and bounds better.
2. didn't talk about how the magic works, It just does. I didn't feel so confused on the details like "why is this happening? How can she do that? or this doesn't make any sense.:"
3. Much better edit. not a lot of holes or random rabbit trails to nowhere.
4. I would have liked more. I liked the dad character, but he was not really in this one much. I really missed Eastwood, but I have a feeling its a set up for the 3rd book, which makes me really excited.
Like I said in my review for Geekomancy. I look forward to continuing to read this author. I can see he is getting better, and has good ideas. This is going to be a really good writer! Keep up the great work!

Well Worth Your Time...

I keep restarting this review because I just can't figure out a way to explain how much I liked Celebromancy. I was a fan of the first book in the series and expected more geeky, fanboy magical fun but I wasn't prepared for how awesome the second Ree Reyes books would be.
Rather than just doing more of the same in Celebromancy, Michael Underwood dives into an entirely new branch of magic; one that investigates and explains America's obsession with fame and celebrity. This book gives us a sense of a greater world beyond the Geekomancy universe we've experience so far and promises many more exciting adventures to come.
Plus there's a dragon, I mean come on, a dragon...and Buffy references...and the roadie run and Spider-Man powers and...well I could go on and on.
If you're a fan of fiction, celebrity, movies, fantasy or fiction make sure you pick this book up (along with the first in the series).
Oh and there's a love rhombus...how awesome is that?
